Meet the Founders
Mary Gevorkian & Allen Ashrafyan
Founders & Artistic Directors
Dynamic Dance LA was founded in 2005 by award-winning siblings Mary Gevorkian and Allen Ashrafyan. Their dance journey began at just five and seven years old, and their legacy has been growing ever since.
Together, they’ve performed on stages across the globe, earned numerous accolades, and trained generations of dancers who’ve gone on to achieve excellence. From appearances in music videos to live performances alongside artists such as Lilit Hovhannisyan, Super Sako, and Armenchik, their influence in the dance world is unmatched.
Their first production, Versatility Dance Show (2008), received overwhelming praise and set the tone for the studio’s evolution. While originally rooted in Ballroom, Dynamic Dance LA has grown into a multidisciplinary studio offering Hip-Hop, Salsa, Contemporary, Heels, Zumba, and more.
Mary and Allen are known not only for their fearless choreography and creative vision but for the nurturing, community-driven environment they’ve built. Their deep respect for Armenian heritage, combined with a modern, global dance perspective, continues to inspire students to grow—in both movement and mindset.

Meet Karina
Choreographer & Dance Instructor
A dynamic blend of passion, precision, and purpose, Karina is a devoted dancer, choreographer, and mentor. She began her training at Dynamic Dance LA at just eight years old, under the mentorship of Mary and Allen. Her commitment and talent quickly set her apart.
Karina has competed in International Latin Ballroom competitions, earning countless titles and recognition for her powerful stage presence and technical mastery. Her training spans multiple genres, and her choreography merges storytelling with stylized movement that resonates with audiences and dancers alike.
In the studio, Karina is known for her intuitive teaching style and ability to connect with students of all levels. Her background in psychotherapy adds depth to her instruction, creating a safe space where dancers explore not just steps, but self-expression, emotion, and identity.
Karina is honored to bring her journey full circle at Dynamic Dance LA, empowering students to find their voice through movement and embrace dance as a path to both excellence and healing.
